Hide Me From Me
I was told to be careful
About asking God to hide me from me
But I say this with the sincerest humility
I say Lord hide me from me
Because I am just as human as human can be
I have a memory, I have visions and I have dreams
I am affected by what life brings
Without God anything can pop up out of me
But if I’m hiding
Under the wings of the Almighty
I know if it’s one thing I will always have is safety
I’m safe from Me
The stuff that came with me
When I was just a seed
Remember we were conceived in sin
Before Jesus set us free
Stuff like lack of faith and insecurity
Pride and jealousy
Don’t forget doubt and unbelief
Yes, all this stuff could rise up against me
But not if God continues to hide me from me
The enemy is full of wisdom
For the Bible says
Be wise as a serpent
And gentle as a dove
He is waiting on me
To get full of pride
And show no love
But I know how he operates
Trying to get me to believe
I made myself great this way
Well I am great
But only in God
So I don’t find it strange or odd
That the enemy takes the truth
And mix it with a lie
Hoping you would fall
For the same trick with Eve he tried
When he told her, you won’t surely die
See the truth in that lie
She didn’t naturally die
But she committed spiritual suicide
I’m sure she asked herself
Time and time again
WHY…WHY!!!
She thought she wanted something
So bad that day, she disobeyed
And getting evicted from the garden
Was the price she had to pay
So, believing in my own hype
And in all of this hypes glory
Will not be my truth or my story
Because being under His wings
I will always seek
Boldly saying my prayer
“Lord Hide Me From Me”

Hey sis, as usual you have written a powerful message for many women to follow. Understanding your gift is great, that many will praise you, yet remembering that you must thank God for your light and path of success. It takes a great woman to recognize that her strength, success and faith all truly lies in the hands of the Lord. Through your perseverance and faith, no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for God will protect you, no one or thing will keep you from what God has in store for HEED’s mission. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me on today. I love you and wish you well as you travel this road that leads to an abundance of success.
Ann,
As a spiritually grounded disciple, I do not think seeing just what you are capable of doing is a bad thing…you can only grow and get better. It is when we as eagles and eaglettes forsake the assembly with "like folks" and then we have no one to check us when we fall short of his glory. Keep breaking ground sis and I will be right here praying and encouraging your journey.
I thank God that you have the heart and mind to share your word from Him with others. It's amazing how God can bring forth our passions and allow us to express ourself to others that need His encouraging word.
