Mother The Role of a Lifetime
~ Mother’s Day Tribute Poem ~
Mother The Role of a Lifetime Poem:
I often still sit and think about the woman who gave life to me
How naturally beautiful she was and so jazzy and classy
Who I am and what I think,
How I dream and what I believe
Yes, she is who gave me this strong personality
I never imagined her not being here with me for a longer time
I’m just learning to celebrate her life, by celebrating mine
I celebrate her leaving a legacy of wisdom that I remember with ease
She would say “You should always aim high and never aim to please”
She would say you can never please everyone anyway
So don’t try because if you do you will have a heavy price to pay
She would tell me if I found one true friend keep her because that‘s rare
She taught me to never be stingy, because you get more when you share
As I Got Older…
Then as I got older she was funny when she started singing the same old song
You know the one…“Girl you better not bring me NO babies home”
Then she said a woman must keep a clean house and know how to cook at least one good meal
She said especially a clean kitchen and bathroom
I know you have heard the same spill
When I met Mervyn she must have approved, I know this because she eased up on some of the rules
She told me not to worry about who I loved, just make sure he truly loved me
Because girls change who they love every week, but men take who they love very seriously
I must have listened and got that part right because after 22 years we are still in this married life
Now that she is gone I find myself speaking the way she would speak to me
Always praying to be half the woman she was to me
Well, Cameron always tells me how much he loves me,
And I want him to know and read
I am a great Mother, because of the example my Mother was to me……..

~Take Heed~
Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:
There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all! Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Angela, you do carry your mother's legacy well. Just like Momma, you are jazzy, fun to be around, radiant, caring
and cool.
Angie, that was great!
