As believers, God forbids Christians to touch the unclean things and to participate in the unfruitful works of darkness. The ouija board is an object of contact between this world and the unseen world also known as the spirit realm where people communicate with demons. These demons, often disguised as family members who have died.
Definition of Necromancy
1 : Conjuration of the spirits of the dead for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of event. The practice of summoning and talking to the dead is called necromancy. God forbids His children to participate in these works of darkness but there are many Christians who think it’s not real and is just harmless fun. Using the Ouija board to bring up the spirits of the dead leads to both destruction and death.
The Dangers of Touching Unclean Things
Playing with the ouija board, whether for fun or for contacting the dead is a dangerous practice. Using objects such as the ouija board to channel the spirit realm and unseen entities, opens you and your family up to demonic attacks, oppression and possibly demonic possession. We are warned in the Book of Ephesians to not waste our time with these things and to expose them as deeds of darkness by shining the light of God’s word on it.
Ephesians 5:10-12
You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.
Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.

Anything we ever need to know about our past, present and future should be consulted with through God. God has given us the Holy Spirit and this is the only spirit that we should ever be consulting with. God sent us His Holy Spirit in order to lead us into all truth. The Holy Spirit will bring you light and truth. It will never lead you into darkness and lies. Please do not be misled by Satan. He uses these tools like the Ouija board to deceive and trick people out of their fascination with the spirit realm or the supernatural. The spirit realm is not a joke. It is real, and it is not to be played with. Many people have played in this realm and died because of it’s powerful control.
