Children Obey Your Parents In The Lord
The Word of God tells us that children should obey their parents in the ways of the Lord. God says It is the right thing for children to do this. In doing what is right, God promises children a divine blessing for honoring their parents. In the times that we are living in we see so much disrespect for parents and the elderly.
The Lord instructs Fathers to not provoke their children in anger to where they don’t want to obey them. According to the word, this parent/child relationship has two roles. The child is to obey the parents in the Lord or in the things that please the Lord.
The Lord doesn’t expect children to follow parents in folly. As parents, we must be sure we are instructing our children in the word and ways of the Lord. In doing this we can be sure that we are leading our children just as the Father leads us in righteousness.
Ephesians 6:1-4
Children, obey your parents the way the Lord wants, because this is the right thing to do. The command says, “You must respect your father and mother.” This is the first command that has a promise with it. And this is the promise: “Then all will go well with you. You will have a long life on the earth.”Fathers, don’t make your children angry, but raise them with the kind of teaching and training you learn from the Lord.
