Today I want to share a prayer for humility and obedience with our readers. The word of God tells us in Proverbs 18:12 that before being ruined, a person’s heart is proud. Before being honored, a person must first be humble. Pride is the reason Lucifer was kicked out of heaven. The spirit of haughtiness is one of the major down fall of many people. We see the spirit of pride in operation when dealing with the Spirit of Leviathan.
When dealing with the spirit of pride, we must have a humble and contrite spirit before the Lord. The first place humility must start is within ourselves. We can pray a prayer for humility for husband or wife when we see pride arising in our marriages. We can teach our children the power of humility at a young age with a daily children’s prayer for humility. Teaching our children about the power of humility and gratitude at an early age will help them to grow in the Lord as a child into adulthood. As we intercede on behalf of our friends and loved ones, Lord give us both your spirit of humility and patience.
Prayer Points For Humility
Praying the word of God is praying His will. In addition to praying in the spirit which is the perfect will of God, use these scripture based prayer points for humility to pray for a spouse, child, friend, loved one and for yourself. Prayer For Humility And Obedience
Father In The Name of Jesus,
I come humbly before your throne Lord asking you to teach me how to submit to your will and your way. Your word says that when I humble myself before You, that You will make me both wise and honored. Help me to demonstrate a spirit of humility when I deal with others. Everything that I am and that I know is because of You Lord.
Teach me to be grateful for all that I have and not walk in pride and arrogance. Help me to always remember that I have gained nothing by my own hands. It is by your strength Lord that my way is made prosperous. Give me a tender heart towards you Lord and do not allow pride to harden my heart. I humble myself for any pride that may be found in my heart so that your wrath does not come upon me Lord. As I humble myself before you Lord, you will send forth deliverance from any and everything that seeks to destroy my life. You send your word and deliver me from all my destruction.
Help me Lord to walk in your ways and in your truth. I desire your truth in my inward man and I pray that pride will never cause me to resist your truth and your way. I reject and denounce every prideful way of my ancestors and I humble myself before you Lord in both my heart and mind. As I teach my children to honor you in humility, I see you at work in my life and the lives of my children and that brings me great joy. Thank You Lord for hearing my prayers. I will make always make my boast in the Lord.
