My New Life In Christ
This My New Life In Christ prayer is an especially good prayer for new believers. It is also a great reminder for those who have been in the faith for years. It is a reminder that our life is hidden in Christ. When we receive salvation, we take on the nature and character of Jesus. We become a new person in Christ. We should no longer practice and do the things we did before we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
There may be sin that we can instantly come out of or “take off” and there may be others sins that we may need deliverance from. God knows our hearts. When we come to Him sincerely wanting to change, He is faithful and just to deliver us from all sin. As you begin your new life in Christ, trust the Lord to conform you into His image and likeness.
Prayer and Affirmation
I am raised from death with Christ.
So I live for what is in heaven,
Where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God
I only think about what is up there,
Not what is here on earth.
My old self has died,
And my new life is kept with Christ in God
Yes, Christ is now my life,
And when he comes again,
I will share in his glory.
I put everything evil out of my life:
Sexual sin, doing anything immoral,
Letting sinful thoughts control me,
And wanting things that are wrong.
And I don’t keep wanting more and more for myself,
Which is the same as worshiping a false god.
God will show his anger against those who don’t obey him,
Because they do these evil things.
I did these things in the past, when I lived like the world
But now I put these things out of my life:
Anger, losing my temper,
Doing or saying things to hurt others,
And saying shameful things.Â
I don’t lie to others.
I have taken off those old clothes
The person that I once was and the bad things I did then.
Now I am wearing a new life,
A life that is new every day.
I am growing in my understanding of the one who made me.
I am becoming more and more like him.
In this new life it doesn’t matter if I am Greek or a Jew,
Circumcised or not
It doesn’t matter if you speak a different language
Or even if I am a Scythian.
It doesn’t matter if I am a slave or free.
Christ is all that matters, and he is in me.
