Leviathan The King of Pride
Who is Leviathan The King of Pride and how can we defeat him? This haughty and prideful spirit comes to rob us of God’s very best for our lives. It is a spirit that will sneak up on you and destroy you. It is a spirit that causes many to go to highest heights and be brought down to the lowest depths.
Pride is the sin that caused Lucifer to fall and lose his position as the chief covering angel. It is the same spirit in operation today seeking to make both you and I fall from the grace of God. We can always recognize Leviathan at work by its characteristics it manifest.
The wicked are too proud to ask God for help. He does not fit into their plans. Share on X
Leviathan The King of Pride Characteristics:
Pride:
Inordinate self-esteem, conceited
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall.
Arrogance:
An attitude of superiority
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
Contentiousness:
Causes disagreements or arguments
Romans 2:7-11
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
For there is no respect of persons with God.
Scornful Anger:
Open dislike and disrespect
Proverbs 3:34
Surely He scorns the scornful,
But gives grace to the humble.
Obstinate:
Being difficult to handle or overcome
Isaiah 48:4
I knew how hard and obstinate you are. Your necks are as unbending as iron; you are as hardheaded as brass.
Stubbornness:
Unyielding and bullheaded
Psalm 78:7-8
So they would all trust in God, never forgetting what he had done and always obeying his commands.
They would not be like their ancestors, who were stubborn and refused to obey.
Their hearts were not devoted to God,and they were not faithful to him.
Rebellion:
Defiant and resistant
1 Samuel 15:22-24
For rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. And now because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has rejected you from being king.”
Boastfulness:
To glorify oneself in speech
James 4:15-17
So you should say, “If the Lord wants, we will live and do this or that.” But now you are proud and boast about yourself. All such boasting is wrong. If you fail to do what you know is right, you are sinning.
Humble Yourself
The one prayer that we should never pray is to ask God to humble us. You never want God to humble you. That is something we are called to do ourselves. We must fall on the “Rock” who is Jesus and not have the Rock to fall on us. If Jesus has to humble us it is because pride has come in and lifted us up to a place that God did not bring us to. The Word of God tells us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. When we humble ourselves and submit our will to His then….He will exalt us. In the Kingdom of God the way to go up is to do down.
