Praying The Book of Psalms
~Prayer of Protection For The Righteous ~
Today we are praying the Book of Psalm with a prayer of protection for the righteous. What a powerful prayer of promises of protection the Lord gives to those who love Him and live an upright life. As you read this prayer today trust in the Lord to protect you as His own and rest in His word without fretting or worrying over anything.
I never envy the wicked! Soon they fade away like grass and disappear.
Instead I trust in the Lord.
I am kind and good to others
And I will live safely here in the land and prosper, feeding in safety.
I am delighted with the Lord and He gives me all your heart’s desires.
As I commit everything I do to the Lord, I trust Him to help me do it, and He does.
My innocence will be clear to everyone.
The Lord will vindicate me with the blazing light of justice shining down as from the noonday sun.
I Rest In The Lord
As I rest in the Lord, I wait patiently for Him to act and I am not envious of evil men who prosper.
I stop my anger and turn off my wrath.
I don’t fret and worry because it only leads to harm.
For the wicked shall be destroyed, but because I trust in the Lord, I shall be given every blessing.
Only a little while and the wicked shall disappear and I will look for them in vain.
But because I humble myself before the Lord, I shall be given every blessing and shall have wonderful peace.
The Lord is laughing at those who plot against the godly, for He knows their judgment day is coming.
Evil men take aim to slay the poor; they are ready to butcher those who do right.
But their swords will be plunged into their own hearts, and all their weapons will be broken.
It is better for me to have little and be godly than to own an evil man’s wealth.
The strength of evil men shall be broken, but the Lord has forgiven me and He takes care of me
The Lord Will Reward Me
I am godly and day by day the Lord observes the good deeds I have done
The Lord gives me eternal rewards.
He cares for me when times are hard and even in famine, I will have enough.
But evil men shall perish. These enemies of God will wither like grass and disappear like smoke.
Evil men borrow and “cannot pay it back”! But anything I owe, I return with some extra besides.
I am blessed by the Lord and shall inherit the earth.
But those cursed by him shall die.
My Steps Are Ordered By The Lord
The Lord blesses me with goodness and He directs my steps.
He delights in each step I take.
If I fall, it isn’t fatal, for the Lord holds me with his hand.
I have been young and now I am old.
In all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves him.
And I have never seen the children of the godly go hungry.
Instead, the godly are able to be generous with their gifts and loans to others, and their children are a blessing.
I want an eternal home, and so I leave all evil, low-down ways and live a good life.
For the Lord loves justice and fairness.
He will never abandon me and I will be kept safe forever.
But all who love wickedness shall perish.
Because I am godly, I shall be firmly planted in the land and live there forever.
I am a good counselor because I am just, fair and know right from wrong.
Evil men spy on the godly, waiting for an excuse to accuse them and then demand their death.
But the Lord will not let these evil men succeed, nor let the godly be condemned when they are brought before the judge.
I Wait Patiently On The Lord To Act
I am not impatient for the Lord to act!
As I keep traveling steadily along my pathway.
In due season the Lord will honor me with every blessing and I will see the wicked destroyed.
I myself have seen it happen: a proud and evil man, towering like a cedar of Lebanon, but when I looked again, he was gone!
I searched but could not find him!
But for me what a different story!
Because I am good, blameless, upright, and peaceful
I have a wonderful future ahead of me.
For me there is a happy ending.
But evil men shall be destroyed, and their posterity shall be cut off.
The Lord saves the godly!
He is my salvation and my refuge when trouble comes.
Because I trust in Him, he helps me and delivers me from the plots of evil men.
Amen!
