What’s In a Name
What’s in a name? In the Bible God uses names to identify people with certain traits and characteristics of their personality. There were many times in the Bible when a person’s character had changed that God changed the name of that person to represent their new character and as we grow in God and become more like him in our walk, talk and actions our name also has been changed.
A good name can define you, it can bring you favor and it will lead you into your divine destiny. It is better for us in life to have a good name than to be rich with a bad name. The riches in this life will not take us very far if the character of our name is without value.
Proverbs 22:1
It is better to be respected than to be rich. A good name is worth more than silver or gold.
Trusting In The Name of God
God is so awesome and powerful. He is everything to us and in Him we live and move and have our being. For this very reason we must depend on God to speak to us, lead us and protect us. The names of God represent everything that He is to us and more. With each name that God has it represents a different trait of His complex character. We can rest in the assurance that whatever we are facing in this life, God has a name that we can call on that will deliver us from that particular situation.
When we’re going through dark times in our lives we can call on the name of God as The Light Of the World. When we become stressed over life’s problems and issues we can call on the name of God to be our Prince of Peace. We can trust in the name of God and know that there is nothing too hard for Him and there is nothing that we can face in life that our God can’t solve. He is the Great I AM!
