God’s Law About Witchcraft
God’s law about witchcraft is very simple. You shall not practice witchcraft or allow a woman who practices it to live. God hates witchcraft and tells us in
1 Samuel 15:23 that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Those who rebel and fight against the word of God are operating in the sin of witchcraft and for those who refuse to come out of this sin have made it their idol.
So Samuel said:
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.”
Then Saul said to Samuel,
“I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words,
because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.
Do Not Play With Witchcraft
God considers the practice of witchcraft to be punishable by death. This let’s us know that it is nothing for us to play with. We should not be entertaining anything that deals with witchcraft, fortune tellers, the occult or magic. To practice witchcraft or anything in that realm is to rebel against God and His laws.
As believers, when we want to know anything about the unknown, we pray and ask the Lord to show us by His Holy Spirit. We don’t consult with witches to show us the future or knowledge of what’s going on. When you seek out information of the unknown by these means, you are consulting with demons and familiar spirits
Gods law about witchcraft is the same today as it was in the old testament. It is still rebellion against God when you take any part of it. If you have practiced witchcraft or sought out the help of a witch or fortune, teller repent and ask God to forgive you. Denounce the spirit of divination over your life and have no more dealings with any kinds of witchcraft or occult practices and those that practice them. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can pray this simple prayer of salvation right where you are today.
