Elder Mark Moore Jr Why Carlton Pearson Was Right
Think About It…
Now that I have your attention. I can still remember the joy of listening to gospel radio in the early 2000’s. Back in the days when Kurt Carr made every soprano in America hate him for making them modulate 30 times while inviting the saints to lift their hands in the sanctuary. The days when pre-reality show Mary Mary told us to take the shackles off our feet so we could dance (You read that line to the beat didn’t you?). Back when Colorado had a mass choir and Donald Lawrence still had the Tri-City singers. The days when Choir CD’s actually had the choir on the cover of the CD. You know, the good old days.
This was a pivotal time in Gospel music. Gospel rap was still relatively new and you no longer had to sing to win a stellar award. There was a shift taking place in the sound of Gospel but even in the midst of these transitions, there was always one person you could look to for guaranteed church; Bishop Carlton Pearson.
For a significant space in time, he was considered by many to be the king of the ministry mountain. His “Azusa” Conference drew thousands and was “Megafest” before “Women Thou Art Loosed” was even big. Artists at one point were lined up for a chance to sing on the stage he built with a combination of sheer charisma, old school flair and new school flash. Then something changed…
The Greater Revelation
The prominent Pentecostal preacher announced that he had received a greater revelation. A revelation that the predominant presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ was false. Apparently, preachers who had been telling people for years that Jesus was the way to heaven & the answer to their sin problem had wasted their time. According to Bishop Pearson in fact, whether one believes in Jesus or not, they’re already “saved” and guaranteed a home in the sky. Those who practice other religions like Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists and Satanists are going to heaven. Those who commit acts or live lives that are opposed to God’s word and refuse to repent including murderers, gays, liars, adulterers and child molesters are going to heaven. Even those guilty of unthinkable evils like women who wear pajamas to the store like it’s okay are going to heaven.
If this is your first time hearing of this doctrine that Bishop Pearson refers to as “The Gospel of Inclusion”, then certainly you have questions by now. The one that stands tallest in my mind is this. If everybody is going to heaven…who’s going to hell??? The answer to that question according to “inclusionists” sums up what they consider to be the beauty of their revelation. No one. That’s right; no one is going to hell.
Why? Because there is no hell….CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING
