Prayer Watch 3AM – 6AM
Lord we thank you that we are able to come before your presence during this 3AM – 6AM prayer watch. We long to be in your presence and meditate on your word during this fourth watch of the night. As we press into your presence during this time, we ask that you would be with us and give us clarity of thought and mind. Cover us under the shadow of your wings from the evil one who seeks to kill, steal and destroy and protect us from the workers of iniquity.
Understanding The Prayer Watches:
The 3am – 6am prayer watch is the fourth and final watch of the night. Out of all of The 8 Prayer Watches, this particular watch is where you will experience the most heightened amount of satanic and supernatural activity. This is the watch that is also known as the witching hour or devil’s hour.
Spiritual beings such as demons, ghosts and angels are thought to appear and be most visible during this time because the veil in the spirit realm is thinner during the hours of 3am and 4am. It is very important that those who have been assigned to this prayer watch will take their position to pray. This is the time in which deep sleep falls upon man and there is less praying going forth. The scriptures tell us that while man slept, the enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. This is also the time of night when Jesus disciples were out on the water toiling and thought they saw a ghost.

Night Watches And Spirits
During this prayer watch, those who are involved in witchcraft, the occult, new age, and satanic worship are usually performing their activities through astral projection. Astral projection is described as an intentional out-of-body experience that assumes the existence of a soul or consciousness called an astral body. This astral body is separate from the physical body and is capable of traveling outside the body throughout the spirit realm. This is a forbidden practice by God and is done through the help of demonic powers and entities.
Satanic Activities Heighten
Those who practice this form of divination and satanic worship, must be back in their bodies before the breaking of dawn. It is during the 3AM – 6AM prayer watch of the night that they are returning back to their bases or bodies. It is during this time that these workers of darkness are running back ‘home’ so that they are not caught outside their physical bodies.
Although the night watches fall between 6pm to 6am, the most intense battle is felt in the final fourth watch during 3AM to 6AM. This is the time before the dawn breaks and the shaking begins. It is especially between the hours of 12 midnight and 3:00 AM that the workers of the kingdom of darkness heighten their satanic activities.
The Witching Hours
The hour between 3am – 4am is known as the witching hour. It is during this hour that people are more likely to see ghost or sense a heavy presence of spiritual beings. It is right before the breaking of dawn, around 5am that the workers of darkness cease their activities before the dayspring or breaking of dawn comes forth to shake out the wicked.
Testimonies of former witches that have to been converted to Christianity tell of their experiences where when they went out of their bodies on witchcraft assignments through astral projection, they had to return into their bodies before 6:00 AM, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to. This is because they would have been shaken out by the dawn’s light according to the Book of Job. The Book of Ecclesiastes talks about the silver cord of life that snaps. You will hear many witches and new age practitioners speak about this cord while they practice astral projection.

Blessings Released
In this prayer watch, we engage in intense spiritual warfare, we must be persistent and relentless for our blessings to be released. It was during this watch Jacob wrestled with God all night for his life and would not let Him go until the Lord blessed him. Jacob won the fight and found favor with God and man during this watch.
Genesis 32:24-30
Jacob was left alone, and a man came and wrestled with him. The man fought with him until the sun came up. When the man saw that he could not defeat Jacob, he touched Jacob’s leg and put it out of joint. Then the man said to Jacob, “Let me go. The sun is coming up.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go. You must bless me.” And the man said to him, “What is your name?” And Jacob said, “My name is Jacob.” Then the man said, “Your name will not be Jacob. Your name will now be Israel.
I give you this name because you have fought with God and with men, and you have won.” Then Jacob asked him, “Please tell me your name.” But the man said, “Why do you ask my name?” Then the man blessed Jacob at that place. So Jacob named that place Peniel. He said, “At this place, I saw God face to face, but my life was spared.”
Wrestling With God
To wrestle in this context means:
1: to float away as vapor, to bedust (to cover with dust)
2: grapple (engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle)
3: light particles
James 4:14
But you do not know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a mist [vapor; puff of smoke]. You can see it [It appears] for a short time, but then it goes away.
Intense Spiritual Warfare
During the fourth prayer watch of the night, we wrestle for our lives. There may be times when you wake up in the morning only to find that you are more tired than when you went to sleep. This is the time when we are in our deepest sleep and we war in the spirit. Pray for God’s divine favor and protection as we engage in spiritual warfare.
During this watch, pray that God will throw the enemy into confusion and prevent him from pursuing you. You will usually find that women who are in physically abusive relationships will try to leave their abusers during the night before dawn breaks. Pray that God will give you wisdom for the battle to defeat the enemy. This type of warfare during the night season causes a physical drain on our bodies as we sleep but our spirit man is well equipped as we are fully dressed in the armor of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:12
Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.
Communion With The Lord
During this watch, we pray for divine favor and blessings to be lighted upon our lives. When the Lord returns and finds His servants watching He will come and commune with us.
Psalm 77:6
I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit
In this fourth watch of the night, we wait upon and commune with God. This is the watch in which are to be found spiritually awake, alert and watching. This is the time when darkness ends and the breaking of dawn begins. We must be spiritually awake and alert to what the Lord is doing in this hour.
Luke 12:37-38
Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants whom the master finds awake and alert and watching when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will gird himself and have them recline at table and will come and serve them! If he comes in the second watch (before midnight) or the third watch (after midnight), and finds them so, blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants!
Pray Against Witchcraft and Occult Spirits
Prayer after midnight until the breaking of dawn requires tremendous warfare against powers of darkness, witchcraft and occult spirits. Some of my most intense warfare has occurred between these hours as well as breakthroughs and access into the dark places to free captives. During both the third watch (12am – 3am) and the fourth watch (3am – 6am) known as the witching hours or devil’s hour. It is typically between the hours of 12 am and 4 am that is associated with supernatural events, whereby witches, demons and ghosts are thought to appear and be at their most powerful.

Deeds Done In The Dark
When talking to people who were involved in witchcraft and occult practices they will always tell you that most if not all their activity, spells, rituals, astral projection, seances and meetings were held at night, particularly after midnight. It’s the time between midnight and sunrise that the deeds of the wicked and workers of iniquity enjoy doing their work in the darkness. The darkness is where they feel they can hide and veil themselves while practicing their wicked deeds. But God said there is no darkness too thick to where you can hide from Him. God sees all and He knows all.
Are you going to condemn this God who says to kings and nobles, ‘You are wicked and unjust’? For he doesn’t care how great a man may be, and doesn’t pay any more attention to the rich than to the poor. He made them all. In a moment they die, and at midnight great and small shall suddenly pass away, removed by no human hand.
“For God carefully watches the goings on of all mankind; he sees them all. No darkness is thick enough to hide evil men from his eyes, so there is no need to wait for some great crime before a man is called before God in judgment. Without making a big issue over it, God simply shatters the greatest of men and puts others in their places. He watches what they do and in a single night he overturns them, destroying them, or openly strikes them down as wicked men.
Anointed For Prayer
This is the time of night where most people with prophetic giftings are called to prayer. It is not a watch that should be entered into without prayer and God’s anointing upon your life. It is a very different type of watch from the others and is not to be taken lightly. I have had people ask my advice on how to stay up during this particular watch and my answer is “you don’t do it by drinking a pot of coffee but you do it through the anointing of The Holy Spirit.”
This is the watch in which witchcraft, spells and curses are being sent out especially over the church. It is through prophetic and strategic prayer of the Word of God that can and will bind up and hinder the works of darkness from prevailing. Inquire of the Lord if this is your assigned watch. Typically you will have no real problems staying up and praying if this is your assigned prayer watch given to you from the Lord. God has his night watchman praying. watching in the spirit and covering.
The Word of God says that while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came. The enemy planted weeds among the wheat and then went away. Let’s stand watch during this prayer tine to ensure that the enemy does not sow weeds in our lives and the lives of those we are assigned to pray for.

Don’t do as the wicked do. Avoid their haunts—turn away, go somewhere else, for evil men can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest unless they cause someone to stumble and fall. They eat and drink wickedness and violence! But the good man walks along in the ever-brightening light of God’s favor; the dawn gives way to morning splendor, while the evil man gropes and stumbles in the dark.
The Wicked Hate Light
In the same way that the wicked hate the light and the dawning of a new day, they also do not want the light of Jesus Christ to shine in their hearts. Their hearts are evil and devise wicked plans, therefore they resist the light of Christ. Jesus is the light of the world and it is in Him that true enlightenment occurs. Outside of Christ is false light manifested by Satan. Let’s not forget, Satan can change himself into an angel of light and deceive many.

They are judged by this fact: The light has come into the world. But they did not want light. They wanted darkness, because they were doing evil things. Everyone who does evil hates the light. They will not come to the light, because the light will show all the bad things they have done.
The wicked rebel against the light and are not acquainted with the right and the good. They are murderers who rise in the early dawn to kill the poor and needy; at night they are thieves and adulterers, waiting for the twilight ‘when no one will see me,’ they say. They mask their faces so no one will know them. They break into houses at night and sleep in the daytime—they are not acquainted with the light. The black night is their morning; they ally themselves with the terrors of the darkness.
The Light Shakes The Wicked Out
Did you ever in your life command the morning to begin
Or the day to dawn?
Did you ever tell the morning light to grab the earth
And shake those who are evil out of their hiding places?
The morning light makes the hills
And valleys easy to see.
When the daylight comes to the earth,
The shapes of these places stand out like the folds of a coat.
They take shape like soft clay
That is pressed with a stamp.
Evil people don’t like the daylight.
When it shines bright, it keeps them from doing the bad things they do.
Divine Favor and Blessings
The windows of heaven are open for God to pour out His blessings upon His people. It is a time for revival and resurrection life. The name Eutychus means (well fated, fortunate, good and well done.) The book of Acts gives us a depiction of how we must be careful that we don’t fall from the high places in God. The time was late and the midnight hour had approached, which represents the end times we are currently living in. The upper room chamber and room with many lights represents the Holy of Holies and the presence of God.
Eutychus was listening to the preached word, but fell into a deep sleep that caused him to fall out the window to his death. It was by the grace and favor of God that he was revived and resurrected back to life.
Revival and Resurrection Life
During this prayer watch is the time where sleep falls heavy on people. It is only by the grace and favor of God that He awakens us and breathes the breath of life into us again each morning. Brand new mercies He gives us each morning.
Acts 20:7-12
On Sunday we all met together to eat the Lord’s Supper. Paul talked to the group. Because he was planning to leave the next day, he continued talking until midnight. We were all together in a room upstairs, and there were many lights in the room. There was a young man named Eutychus sitting in the window. Paul continued talking, and Eutychus became very, very sleepy. Finally, he went to sleep and fell out of the window. He fell to the ground from the third floor. When the people went down and lifted him up, he was dead.
Paul went down to where Eutychus was, knelt down beside him, and put his arms around him. He said to the other believers, “Don’t worry. He is alive now.” Then Paul went upstairs again, broke off some pieces of bread and ate. He spoke to them a long time. It was early morning when he finished, and then he left. The Lord’s followers took Eutychus home alive, and they were all greatly comforted.
Rest From The Cares of Life
Pray for peace of mind from the issues of life that concern us and keep us awake. It is during the night watches that the enemy will bring all the financial, job and family issues to your mind. Many suffer from insomnia and don’t get the proper sleep at night. They long for the night to end so they can wake up and busy themselves again. Rest does not come easy for them. Pray for the peace of God to cover your mind and that you will find sweet sleep.
Job 7:1-4
How mankind must struggle. A man’s life is long and hard, like that of a slave. How he longs for the day to end. How he grinds on to the end of the week and his wages. And so to me also have been allotted months of frustration, these long and weary nights. When I go to bed I think, ‘Oh, that it were morning,’ and then I toss till dawn.
Proverbs 3:23-25
As you go through life, you will always be safe and never fall. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful. You have no reason to fear a sudden disaster or the destruction that comes to the wicked.
Against The Works of Darkness
There are both physical and spiritual works of darkness. If you haven’t noticed, we are living in dark times where sin is covering this earth like a blanket. As believers, we cannot participate in the works of darkness. We belong to the light and not the dark. We represent Christ who is the True Light.
It was during this fourth watch that the chief priest and elders of Israel plotted wicked to kill Jesus and wickedness abound greatly throughout the night against our Lord and Savior. It was at the breaking of dawn that they executed their plot. The dawn is about to break and Christ is soon to come. Let us not be found operating in the deeds of darkness in the night.

Prayer For 3AM – 6AM Fourth Watch of The Night
Father In The Name of Jesus,
We thank you for this time to come before your presence during this fourth watch of the night. As we enter into this watch, protect us Father from the workers of iniquity who hunt and seek the souls of man. We bind the spirit of divination including witchcraft, magic, astral projection, new age practices. Let every plan, plot, scheme and unfruitful work of darkness be destroyed and the enemy be thrown into confusion.
Thank you Father for Your divine favor and protection. We receive and wrestle for the release of Your blessings upon our lives. Thank you for awaken us each morning with Your resurrection life and breathing the breath of life into us. When we fall spiritually, you lift and revive us back to life. We say thank you for Your grace and mercy. Help us Lord to learn how to commune with you and hold fast to Your word during these dark time. We know that the night is upon us and we want to be found awake, alert and watching for your return at the breaking of dawn. Help us Lord to keep our focus on you and to walk in Your light.
Anything that is not like you Father, we take off. We take off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. As we prepare ourselves for the dawning of day, help us to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom for a witness to all the nations. Let not our light be hid or dim but let it shine for all to see You. Let us be wise as serpents and gentle as doves as we prepare for the master to return.

After this 3am – 6am prayer watch, we are embarking on a new day with brand new mercies from the Lord. Sing praises to the Lord. This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Satan is looking to fill our mind in the morning with doubt, worry, evil thoughts, financial issues, health concerns, family problems, fear and the concerns of the world. When we take time out of our early morning to give our first fruit of time, the Lord will honor our sacrifice and direct our steps for that day.

SPIKENARD
Also called nard, nardin, and muskroot. Can be crushed and distilled into an intensely aromatic amber-colored essential oil, which is very thick in consistency. Nard oil is used as a perfume, an incense, a sedative, and as herbal medicine said to fight insomnia, birth difficulties, and other minor ailments.
The oil was known in ancient times and was part of the Ayurvedic herbal tradition of India. It was obtained as a luxury in ancient Egypt, the Near East, and Rome, where it was the main ingredient of the perfume nardinum. Nard is mentioned a number of times in the Old Testament. It was used as one of the Eleven Herbs for the Incense in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. And it is mentioned in the biblical love poem, the Song of Solomon (1:12 and 4:13).
