Scriptures For Feeling Overwhelmed
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Psalm 61
Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
>From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah
For You, O God, have heard my vows;
You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
You will prolong the king’s life,
His years as many generations.
He shall abide before God forever.
Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!
So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may daily perform my vows.
A Prayer When You Feel Overwhelmed
Father in the mighty name of Jesus I thank you for your word. I thank you that You hear me when I cry out to you and You answer my prayers speedily. As I come to You right now, I humble myself under Your mighty hand, knowing that I can do nothing without you. Everything that concerns me, I give to you. I cast all my care upon You because You care for me. I surrender all to You when the enemy tries to amplify my problems and increase the weight of my load. You are here to take that load and make it light for me to carry. In sincere humility, I put my faith and confidence in You Lord that You will keep me from sinking.
When my heart is feeling overwhelmed, I will cry out to You to lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Jesus You are that Rock of my salvation. You are my shelter and strong tower from the enemy when He comes in to flood me with the cares of this world. But as for me I will abide in Your tabernacle forever high above the flood waters and I will trust in the shelter of Your wings that will cover me in the time of storms.
Thank You Father for hearing my prayers. Help me daily to faithfully surrender my all to You. I am Your child and You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. Thank you for giving me long abundant life and for preserving my life from the hand of the enemy. I will abide in Your presence forever as You teach me Your ways. Lord, prepare mercy and truth for me that It may preserve my life. I will sing praises to Your Holy and majestic name. I will declare your goodness and Your mercy all the days of my life.
